With ACC having a significant increase in enrollment of both new and continuing students, we are in need of additional Adjunct Faculty to start teaching with us this August for the Fall 2025 semester. 

Limited to no formal teaching experience? No problem. Bring the subject matter expertise and the heart to support our students. We can help you get set up for success in the classroom.

What should I expect at the Hiring Fair?

Sign in at a Registration Desk to get started. Resume review, in-person interviews, help applying, exploring job opportunities, and more will be available! Be prepared to spend 30 minutes to up to 2 hours with us. 

Who is this hiring event for?

  • Current qualified ACC Professional-Technical employees 
  • Current Faculty at other universities interested in teaching an additional course
  • Anyone in our community who is qualified and interested in teaching

What should I bring with me?

  • Positive energy
  • Unofficial transcripts
  • I-9 identification (drivers license + social security card, or passport) *in case of job placement
  • List of 3 professional references, including a telephone number (1 being a current or former supervisor)

What qualifications do I need to apply?

Each Faculty position has minimum education/degree requirements. Our Workforce programs have a minimum of 3 years of related work experience required. Please review these job postings to see if you meet the requirements. 

The Austin Community College District will ensure all faculty meet the educational and/or experience requirements of the position; credentials are reviewed and verified in accordance with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACS) and other accreditation requirements; and faculty members are appointed in accordance with all ACC policies and state and federal regulations.

What is the compensation package for Adjunct Faculty?

New hire Adjunct Faculty are assigned a lecture equivalent hour (LEH) rate upon hire based on their highest degree in the teaching discipline or in education. *for reference, most courses are 3 LEH

The LEH rates for FY25 new hires are shown below:

  • Master’s degree and below $1,413 per LEH
  • Ph.D. $1,500 per LEH

Example: An Adjunct Faculty member is teaching MATH 1314: College Algebra over the Fall semester. This course is equal to 3 LEH. With their Master’s Degree in Mathematics they will be compensated a total of $4,239 to teach this course.

When would this position start?

Our goal is to hire and have our new adjunct faculty assigned to teaching classes for this Fall! 

For most new adjunct faculty, training will begin the week of August 18, 2025. Fall semester classes begin Monday, August 25, 2025.

Will parking be available to attend the event?

Yes, our Highland Campus has several parking lots and a parking garage, all free of charge. 

Most convenient parking to enter Building 2000 is Lot A and/or the South Garage located by Buildings 3000, 2000, and 4000 on Wilhelmina Drive. Enter the Doors on Level 2 to the Building 2000 and make your way down the stairs or the elevator to Registration. There will be signage and ACC employees to help you navigate. Using the Bus or Train to arrive? From Airport Blvd, make your way up Jacob Fontaine Ln. and enter campus past the large purple ACC letters to the Paseo Entrance.
