In August 1983, ACC trustees agree to buy 193 acres along Riverside Drive and Grove Boulevard, including an 18-hole golf course, and ACC’s third campus opens the following year. Leasing the golf course to the City of Austin helps defray the cost of buying the property and renovating the club house building for classrooms.
